Bordering the Forbidden City on the west, the unique geographical location determines the design direction. The overall layout of Chi Club employs the traditional Beijing quadrangle courtyard in harmony and unity with the Forbidden City and surroundings. In the symmetrical-axis and multi-level progressive space, we tried different volume changes in east and west directions meet the requirements for different external environment conditions and internal functions. Simultaneously, innovative designs are attempted in terms of the construction of roof trusses, outer eaves, gables, and foundations, etc.
