The environment is not just realistic and materialistic natural environment, moreover, a historical and spiritual traditional culture.
The building stands up between the sky and the earth, which indicates humans understanding, attitude, and value on nature. With a considerable area of 50000m2 above the ground, the hotel is even higher than hills. The building imposes an effect on the surroundings, which is the challenge as well as the origin of the design. A circular volume occupies the center of the site, and the gentlest way intervenes in the surroundings.
According to the climate data in Anhui, rooms with the highest solar radiation distributes at the southwest, rooms with lower solar radiation at the northeast.
Based on the change of the amount of solar radiation, parametric method is introduced to design all balconies with different depth. The depth of balconies changes with the amount of the solar radiation to create a controllable modular slab edge, and the building saves more energies.
